Parneet Kaur

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

BSW, MSW, RSW

With more than 10 years of clinical experience, Parneet brings a grounded, compassionate, and culturally responsive approach to therapy. She has extensive experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, significant life transitions, acute stress, and complex mental health concerns.

Parneet understands that people often come to therapy carrying more than a single concern. Mental health can be shaped by relationships, family dynamics, culture, identity, major transitions, and the cumulative weight of experiences over time. Her approach creates space to understand both what someone is experiencing now and the broader context that may be contributing to it.

With advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depressive disorders, Parneet uses evidence-informed approaches including CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), ERP and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her extensive background in community mental health, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, and care coordination also allows her to work comfortably with clients whose needs may feel complicated or difficult to know where to begin.

Before joining VOX, Parneet worked across community mental health, structured psychotherapy, mobile crisis services, brief counselling, and psychiatric settings. Her experience includes collaborating alongside physicians, healthcare professionals, community organizations, and other service providers to support continuity of care.

Areas Parneet can support include:

  • Anxiety and anxiety-related concerns
  • Depression and mood-related concerns
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Stress and overwhelm
  • Life transitions
  • Trauma-related concerns
  • Emotional regulation and coping
  • Relationship and family stress
  • Crisis stabilization and safety planning
  • Cross-cultural experiences and adjustment
  • Navigating complex mental health needs

Parneet is particularly passionate about providing culturally responsive care and recognizes that meaningful therapy cannot be separated from the cultural, familial, and social contexts in which people live. She offers therapy in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, helping make mental health support more accessible to clients who may feel most comfortable expressing themselves in the language that feels most natural to them.

Parneet holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) from the University of Waterloo and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Her additional clinical training includes advanced CBT for anxiety and depression, CBT for anxiety-related and depressive disorders, grief counselling and bereavement, crisis intervention, and safety planning.

At VOX, Parneet offers clients a space that is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in the understanding that effective therapy should respond to the person in front of us, rather than expecting the person to fit a predetermined approach.
