Kanita Pasanbegovic

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

BSW, MSW, RSW

Kanita is a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto in the Mental Health and Health field of study. She brings over three years of experience supporting children and families, alongside two years of experience in a case management role supporting individuals navigating complex physical and mental health challenges.

Kanita’s practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based frameworks. She is mindful of how broader systems—such as ableism, racism, and other forms of structural inequity—impact mental and physical health, as well as daily life.

With a warm, empathetic, and authentic presence, Kanita aims to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore challenges at their own pace. She honours the autonomy and lived experience of each person she works with, and strives to support meaningful progress in ways that align with each client’s values, goals, and unique strengths. Her work is grounded in the principles of trust, respect, and collaboration, and a belief that healing and growth happen in spaces where people feel safe, supported, and heard. She considers it a great privilege to be part of a process where clients explore their story, connect with their strengths, and begin to reclaim a sense of safety.
